It has been some time since i got my sony dsc w320 digital camera, and this seems to be the perfect time to write a reviews on it.
first let's get to the package contents. (that's what every one is interested at)
whats in the package
- sony DSC W320 digital camera unit
- battery pack
- battery charger - the camera cannot be charged via the USB cable
- USB cable
- CD rom
- booklet etc.
the camera also has the holding strap with it, but no camera casing or memory card is included
I bought a 4GB SD memory card and a camera carrying case.
High lights:
- 14.1 megapixel CCD sensor
- excellent high resolution LCD display
- quick start up time
- 26 mm wide angle (grab a whole lot of scenery in a click)
- face detection (up to 9 faces in a crowed)
- Intelligent mode (if your lazy with the settings)
- very easy to use P&S camera for any one
Cons:
*when taking pictures, the camera is slow to go to the next shot, you need to wait a few seconds for the cam to actually process the shot.
*when flash is used indoors the whole picture will get darken (even if the interior was bright, the flash will make the whole picture dark, while trying to brighten up things)
*No image stabilization
(when you go to zoom mode, the slightest movement or breathing can make the cam shake a lot. (digital image stabilization that comes with the cam is not perfect)
what this means is, while zoomed in you need to hold the camera still / use a tripod to get a crisp shot.
Despite all of this, being a camera in the P&S (point and shoot) segment , SONY DSC W320 lives up to the challenges faced by a rookie photographer. you do not need to know all of the settings nor understand all the cocky terms to operate the cam. switch it on point it and press the capture button, the cam will do the rest , succeeding 90% of the time.
